Oh, that's right! The City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee met on March 22nd to make amendments to their initial proposal.
It's shocking to think that this ban would save 450,000 gallons of oil a year. Good grief, that's amazing!
The other bonus is that we're saving on landfill space, too. To date, the majority (like 99%) of plastic bags end up in landfills or as litter.
And to add insult to injury, it takes about 1,000 years for one plastic bag to biodegrade.
I hope more cities follow San Francisco's example.
